Purple was the colour of the shirt

I dressed you in.

Sent you over into mystery

looking ever classy

balancing the dullness

of your pale and greying skin.

If your spirit were a colour now

I think it would be purple

purple like the journal

that I’m writing you in.

A purple vivid and sharp

a purple soft and aglow

I keep your spirit dressed now

in all of these tones.
